Scope and Contents Yiskor bikher, or Memorial Books, were written after the Holocaust by survivors. The purpose of these books was to document the shtetls (Jewish villages of Central and Eastern Europe) that were destroyed and record the names of those Jews killed by Nazis or Nazi sympathizers.
