Scope and Contents

From the Collection:

The Founding Documents collection span the years 1959-1965, with the bulk of the material dating from 1960 to 1964.  The collection highlights the planning and development of Florida Atlantic University and it is organized in six series: Early Planning, Planning, Groundbreaking, Media Relations, Dedication, and Inauguration. 

18 document boxes and two 3 inch clamshell boxes consisting of letters, memos, handwritten notes, agenda and meeting minutes, and reports.

Collections are available for supervised use in the Special Collections reading room during regular hours or by appointment. Users are required to complete a registration form and to comply with regulations governing use. Research assistance may be available but please email or phone first to set up an appointment. Photocopies or electronic copies of material in the collections may be provided within copyright limits but may not be ready immediately. In addition, selected materials are digitized and available electronically through the Digital Library.
