Joseph Rosenberg (Josel Rozenberg) was a Russian-Jewish immigrant who arrived in New York in 1904 after avoiding re-conscription in the Russian Army. He served in the Russian Army from 1899-1904 as a non-commissioned, under-officer. He played the cornet and the string bass in the army band. The Rosenberg Collection includes a bound manuscript of music with over 100 titles covering such genres as: waltzes, mazurkas, quadrilles, marches, polkas, and polonaises.
